Senior Health Economist - Wales - HEOR - Healthcare
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Health Economics professional to work for an NHS Trust based in South Wales as a Senior Health Economist.
This NHS Trust is the first of its kind to host an in house team dedicated to the development of NICE guidelines for the NHS in the UK on the treatment of cancer, they work closely with healthcare professionals, academic institutes and healthcare organisations to achieve their goal of producing cancer guidelines to improve healthcare decision making.
As the Senior Health Economist you will play a crucial role and have the opportunity to make a real difference to this new team at an exciting time. You will report to the Centre Manager, you will line manage a team of 2 Health Economists and have overall responsibility for the health economics research activities and strategic development.
Key Responsibilities: * Provide expertise on health economic aspects of clinical guideline development * Line manage and performance manage Health Economists * Evaluate health economics research evidence and deliver findings to development groups * Conduct decision analytical modelling * Present cost effectiveness evidence * Produce written reports for the guidelines
The role will require you to possess a Degree in Health Economics, Health Services, Public Health or Epidemiology, you should have a have significant experience of working in a Health Economist role within academia or industry and experience of cost effective analysis, analytical modelling, interpreting healthcare research evidence, appraising health literature and knowledge of evidence based healthcare principles would be beneficial. Ideally you will have excellent written verbal communication and presentation skills together with the ability to motivate, influence, build relationships, think strategically, perform under pressure and prioritise.
